Red, White & Blue Bull Sale

The goal

The Red, White & Blue Bull Sale originated as a response to the growing demand for cattle that maximize performance at high elevations. We have done extensive work with Dr. Tim Holt in order to optimize our cow herd and genetics to adapt and excel at high altitude. The RWB Bull Sale is a labor of love, because the desire for low PAPing, high performing bulls is something we understand first hand.

The process

Outside of simply ensuring that our cow base is genetically predisposed to creating low PAPing, high quality, and performance driven progeny, we also take great pride in the consignors that make up the remainder of the RWB breeds.

The Effling family, CK Cattle, has been a loyal and steadfast asset to the sale, providing both Simmental and Hereford genetics. The Dudley Booth family continues to bring top-end Angus bulls that work in a variety of operations.

Regardless of origin, all bulls are PAP tested by Dr. Holt at 7280ft. We believe that Dr. Holt is the best in the business and hold his opinion to the highest degree. Bid with confidence knowing that we carry full faith in the accuracy of the PAP scores collected on each bull.

The breds

We feel incredibly grateful for any opportunity we have to support our customers. We also understand that the need for high-altitude ready cattle extends passed the sector of sires only. These two ideas led us to the inclusion of bred heifers sold as the final lots at the RWB Bull Sale. These females are purchased through Torrington Livestock Markets, from RWB customers, and are out of low PAPing RWB bulls. This set of BLK/BWF heifers are AI-bred to breed leading, low PAPing, high quality Angus bulls, typically to calve in March. The bull breds are cleaned up with low PAPing, carefully selected Angus bulls. These females are sold in groups of five or more, and sorted AI and bull breds.
